From what I hear, fingernail polish remover will take it right off.... I would recommend keeping a rag handy so you don't get it on your paint though. Try using Q-Tips so you don't get it all over.

Painted on, not a decal.
Sand it off, then polish it all over again, ...
(Remove it from the car first, ...)

Just did this the other day. What you do is take it off. You have to take pull back both side tailights to ge tto the center one. All the screws can be hand loosened and they are under the carpet. Next, scrub it with finger nail polish remover until all the red is gone. Then you get 2000 Grit sand paper and wet sand it until its smooth. Once it is smooth, get some rubbing compund and go over it a few times until it doesn't look so dull. Lastly, you need to get some plasctic polisher and polish it up real nice before you re-install it. Then stand back and admire your handy work.

1. Wet sand with 1500 grit wet or dry paper

2. Follow with 2000 grit wet sand

3. Buff out the haze with that white polishing compound in the green can

4. Wax

P.S. That rear center section is actually black plastic. No black paint on it. The logo is painted on like they said above.
