Since this is a recurring topic, I'm sensing that you have reached that point of semi-boredom with the Z, maybe? I, too, know the feeling as I'm there with my SS. I think maybe it's time for you to move on to another toy...the only thing I worry about is the economy and whether or not you will be able to find a buyer for the Z that will pay what it's worth...

Bored, maybe a little bit, but still love the car. Its more about putting money into a old platform knowing I'll probably never see the money again. Also if I knew that 500rwhp would be very reliable on the stock bottom end... then I'd have no worries about putting it in (and it'd prob be in by now) I don't think Procharger, stock bottom end, and "very reliable" are a winning combination...not to mention the stock 10-bolt (unless you upgraded?). Have you given any thought to the 5th gen Camaro?

Not to worried about the 10 bolt since I won't be drag racing at the track. I've considered the new Camaro, but would rather get something more rare/unique. And Gen 2 Vipers can be had for a good price with low miles. Other then that I've considered a C6, but those are even a bit common and bland compared to the Z06 & ZR1 now.
But I don't think I'll get what I think my car is worth so I'll probably end up keeping it. Which is the reason I decided to get the procharged (just the damn bottom end). I could always just throw in a cam and call it a day I guess.

Well, I think if you don't abuse it, you will do fine with the stock bottom end...they seem to be relatively solid for stock. I have a heavy cam in my SS and I don't think I'll ever do it again for a non-raced street car. It sounds wicked and lopey and runs like a champ, it's just a bit too radical for cruising the streets. I'm done with ORYs, too, the unburnt fuel smell clings to you like B.O. Actually, in truth, it could just be that I'm getting old... My advice, if you're not bored with the car and you already have the Procharger kit, bolt it on and have some fun!

Ya I don't drag race so it won't really get abused... much. I agree on the big cams myself. Love the sound, just not very practical. I'm actually thinking about adding in a dynomax bullet muffler into the I pipe to quite the car down a bit

. Yes I think we are getting old Mine is fairly deep, but not exceptionally. I think the cam and headers are the biggest factors in the tone of my exhaust. I went with the Borla because it's stainless...I think the Dynomax bullets are aluminized...or at least they were at one time.
