Default steel SS hood?
I have been looking for a steel SS hood for my Z and was wondering if anyone could tell me where the best deal is? Thanks.

Why do you want a steel hood? VFN makes some kick *** fiberglass ones.

I already have a fiberglass hood and the paint is cracking. I just want to go back to a steel if I can find a good deal on one.

OEM SS is Fiberglass, never even heard of a steel one being made. If the paint is cracking why do you not repaint it? Or is the actual fiberglass cracked.

The factory SS hood is indeed fiberglass. The only metal hood offered in 98-02 is the Z28 version.

OEM is SMC if my memory serves me correctly. (Sheet Molded Composite) not quite "fiberglass"

I would just look for an OEM hood, and you should be fine (as long as it was not wrecked and fixed)
