Default Best way to clean engine bay...

How do you guys do it? I did search I was just wondering what methods you guys prefer.....

I'm having a bitch of a time getting smoke residue off of the underside of my hood. I had to drive it during all the fires we've heen having on the west coast this summer and last summer, and therefore I obtained a nice pattern on my K&N filter (cleaned) and nice black smoke marks under my hood.

I tried the cheap spray on gel stuff (spraycan with orange top) and that didn't work. Tried the foam spray-on stuff too (blue top), that didn't work either. Wax? No-go.

Try a clay bar.
