Default Wolfe bolt in Roll cage??

Anybody have one? How is the quality and fit? Is it 100% bolt in? Also, do you think sfc's are necessary if you have this cage. Just looking for input. Not doing this anytime soon.

Thanks

The overall quality, fit, and finish of the Wolfe bolt-in cage is AWESOME! I had a 6-pt. bolt-in Wolfe cage in my '98 T/A, and it was amazing how well it fit in the car. It's a true bolt-in piece, and it definitely helps with chassis flex, etc. The only downside to me was having to cut into the rear plastic panels, but it wasn't that big of a deal. My friend and I installed it in his driveway in a few evenings, and we were taking our time.

Cool...so it was a lengthy install. I want to say it looks like a 4 hour deal, could come out without damaging the car, and you wouldn't need subframes. If so, it's going to be in the near future for me.

Thanks

Joe,

I recently helped a friend of mine put a Wolfe six point cage in his '99 Tran Am. It is THE best cage out there IMO. Everything bolted right up. The only thing that needs to be cut is the carpet where the hoop and front bars bolt down and the rear speaker grille covers (not the side panels).

If you ever wanted to remove it, all you would have to do is buy some new speaker grille covers and pay attention to detail with the carpet when putting it back down and most people would never know there was ever a cage in the car.

The entire install process should take about 5-6 hours with one or two helpers. Also, I would definitely recommend the removable door bars.

The bolt-in cage is NOT NHRA legal. The main hoop must be welded in for it to be legal, and I don't *think* you can have a removable cross bar. I opted for the removable cross bar for easier access to the backseat. I ended up removing the backseat altogether, so it was pointless. <img src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> However, you shouldn't have any problems passing tech. All I did was slap on a bunch of roll bar padding to cover up the bolts, and I put tie-wraps around them to hold them in place. Nobody ever saw them, and I passed with flying colors at every track. I even passed the stringent guys at HRP, and they can be hardasses if they want to be. They looked my car over hard the last time I had it down there before it sold.

I would call Wolfe and ask them the NHRA/IHRA legality question. I'm almost positive it is though.
