Default Porter Cable question..

Ok YESTERDAY i:
1) washed my car with Dawn
2) clay bar entire car, with Mequires and Zaino detailing spray

i left the car in the Garage overnight..
and today im going to finish with:
1) Menzerna Intesive Polish/Final Polish
2) Zaino Wax

*** Question is do i need to wash the car or rinse the car off before i start Polishing with the PC??

i ask because i live in an APT. and i would have to drive a couple of miles to a DIY car wash to wash my car.. and i dono if thats a good idea after clay bar?

youre supposed to. However if its slightly dusty you can just use the detail spray and wipe it down then go from there. You dont want to go straight to the PC and if the vehicle has dust youll get some swirling.

You need to get the dust off. Either use the detail spray or water in a spray bottle and wipe the car down. It won't take long.

You should be fine using water. I would use detailing spray myself, but you need to get the dust and dirt off. Menzerna polishes do a great job. I think you'll be impressed if you've never used it before.

Either one will work fine. Just wipe it down and go straight to the Menzerna. Like stated above you will be impressed with the finish.

Use some swirl remover after the Menzerna.

Depending on the severity and depth of your scratches, the Menzerna IP will require longer working time on the surface with the harder clear coats to see desired results. Even after 3 passes, you should see less surface blemishes and more clarity. You can concentrate on the smaller trouble spots longer until you get the improvement wanted.

With the PC set at speed 4.5-5.5 and moving at the rate of 1"/second using a moistened orange foam buffing pad, you can work in that section for several minutes until the product has completely broken down. Wipe that section clean and inspect the surface. Once you satisfied with the results, then you can move to the next section.
