Tranny Removal
im trying to take out my 4l60e trans and im running into a problem getting the last bolt out. its the top one on the drivers side. i can get a socket on it but i cant fit a universal joint or extention on the socket because of the angle with the floor board in the way. im even having trouble getting a wrench on it. Any suggestions? PLEASE HELP!
Pry on the side of the Engine to get it to move a little over to the right so you can get into that area. I use a 36" Extention and a Swivel Socket to pull mine, and when I did get it out, I beat the hell out of that area with the BFH to move that steel back.
just an addational question, I feel sure you are letting the trans hang loose and hang down as low as possible, are you not ? also i use a extra long brakeover bar or a pipe for extra tork to break them loose

ahhh yes i remember that bolt on the drivers side. the head of it is just about rubbing the bottom of the firewall and there is no room to swing a wrench. i wrestled with that one for a while.

but i didn't have ANY problems with my. I just removed the trans cross member and let the trans hang down. I have an LT1 tho...don't know if that makes a difference...
