well then it sounds like your shift solenoid is going. If you experience any weird shifting/no shifting etc you will know where to look for the issue.

No truck shift completely normaly. But I do have to fix it because hte check engine light is stopping me from getting emissions and my tag is expiring. I clear the code but it comes back almost right away.

Where is this selenoid on the transmission? I can see a few dont want to replace the wrong one.

I this an item that dealers stock usualy.

I need to fix the CEL like yesterday

Have you tried to clear the code. Might be something to try if not. Here is a picture for you. 1= a solenoid or 1-2 solenoid 2= b solenoid or 2-3 solenoid 3= pwm tcc solenoid 4= 3-2 control solenoid 5= epc/pcs solenoid

Yes I tried but the CEL comes back right away.

So hold on.. I have to drop the pan and the valve body to do this ?

BTW: thanks a million for that picture.

You will just have to remove the oil pan in order to do this repair. Be careful because the 1-2 solenoid has a spring behind it. When you remove the retaining clip it will shoot the solenoid and shift valve out of the bore. It's not under crazy pressure but keep a hand on the solenoid while removing the clip and then just remove the solenoid. Sorry I just reread that you did clear the code and it does come back on. My bad! Your welcome on the pic and advise. Hope it works out for you. Vince

Thanks a lot! I also noticed that the code is only triggered when the car is cold. If I clear the code after getting the truck warmed up, it will not come back for until I let the truck cools down again.
