Default new tranny break in period

I just got my new performabuilt tranny and wonder what the break in period and procedure should be?

make sure the fluid level is right, drive it around the block, basically just make sure it shifts ok then beat the hell out of it.

Hes basically correct, I usually like it to set over night after driving around normally then be warmed and topped off then do what you like

I recommend you (1) Make sure fluid is on the full mark. (2) Manually upshift it for the ten miles. No manually downshifting it till you come to a stop. This will get all of the air out of the servos, accumulators, shift valves, torque converter, cooler, etc. (3) Agian check fluid level, as it will go down some. (4) Next ten miles drive it normally, no more than half throttle. (5) Check fluid level. (6) Now you can start with half to three quarter throttle shifts, and if everything feels fine, start driving the way you want. Dana
