randomly driving down the road the converter will unlock with no ses light if i clear the codes it locks back up if i let it go long enough to turn the ses light on it comes up random cylinder mis fire p0300 would it unlock the converter to reduce load on motor to fix the mis fire or do i have another problem.

 

The random misfire is the problem and yes it will unlock the converter when its detected and if continues long enough may turn on the engine light and set a code.

 

ok thats what i thought i was just hoping i didn't have trans problems tomorrow i will pull the coil packs and valve covers and check for bent push rods or broken springs the trow a set of coil packs on from a 5.3 i have
