Man, it's truly amazing how much weight factors into the abuse a transmisison can take. I don't think FLT even warranties a level 3 in a truck with 350-400rwhp or so.

Thats a 4L60e? Damn.... is it ok to put that much power through a FLT3 4L60e? (obviously that car made it down the track but is it recommeded?)

*edit*

Oh yeah.. congrats... that is a bad car right there!

HP ratings IMO are sales pitches! We do not do this but I feel comfortable saying they will support 400rwhp. We rate them for bolt on cars and this particular vehicle definitely exceeds them! Vince

In a truck that is modded I like to see guys in at least a unit with a sleeved input drum. That would a level 4 or 5. The level 3 is a great trans and we do some for trucks here and there that are not track worriers. I feel if you are going to be launching a heavy truck it is best to step up to the higher level transmissions. It's not an issue if we will warranty it. It's more of an issue if we will even sell it to you in the first place. I would rather not sell you a trans than see you have issues with it. It's not all about sales here at FLT! Vince

No I would not have recommended that unit but as you can see guys are doing it! The car was not originally built to make the power it makes and the trans was before the combo was put together I believe. I would have to agree that is a bad *** street car. It actually leaves very nice and carries the wheels with a very soft landing. They have that car set up very well and I'm sure that has a bunch to do with how it performs! Props to Speed Inc!!!!
