Is the converter going bad?

Is the converter going bad? It seems that when the car is cold the converter does not wanna lock up for some reason. the converter is the YANK ST3500, It feels really awkward from a roll also it seems that i have a huge dead spot from like 40+ the gears in the rear end are 3.42's it used to be a 2.73 car I just can't figure this out. btw the dead spots were there when i swapped the gears.
my best e.t is a 12.98 1.8 60ft. with the converter and mods listed below, and without the converter it was a 13.1 w/ 1.9 60ft. I don't know what's going on. help!

Re: Is the converter going bad? From your 60's it looks like your running on street tires? If you are, you definately need some ET streets. That converter should 60 1.5-1.6's. How many miles on your current transmission? Do you have a tranny cooler?

The converter should cure the dead spot at 40 mph assuming you are at the bottom of second gear. What shift extension ae you holding on WOT upshifts?

Re: Is the converter going bad? Unfortuanetly those times are on e.t. streets could it be that humidty is killing my times? i used that calculator that measures the DA i believe and it calculated a 12.68 but i really don't believe in that thing

Re: Is the converter going bad? my car did the same thing --my car was a 2:73 and i had the same issues --my issues ended being in the programming in the ecm -for some reason once i got my dynotune it stoped --i put my 3:73's in 4 days ago and i already blew them -and my tranny at once lmao oh well . the dead spot i had was a jerking at like 40mph kinda like a stick car does when you are in like 4th at 40
