Smallest converter it's had is a TP-4200. The LS1 cars react much different than "old school" logic to high stall speeds. A Yank SY-3500 with 3.73 is a near perfect street converter. If your a little more track oriented, got for something with a little more STR or higher stall speed.
I bet 90% of people who get a converter smaller than 3500 end up buying another converter for more stall.
Caveat to this.. Vig 3200. but it stalls to ~3500
If you're going Yank and you're running some descent tire (at least drag radials), you might try the SS3800. If you don't plan to run drag radials or go to the track, you might get the SY3500. It's an awesome street converter with super efficiency that hits softer than the SS converters which makes it great for cars with less traction.

Drag radials, slicks, e.t. streets or just radials most of time.
Do you plan on a cam and or head swap at a later date?
All of that needs to be thought of... to save time and money down the road.
