Same issue before and after a rebuild
Been having the problem of hitting the rev limiter on the shifts this past year. I have heads, cam, and converter. Figured it was the trans. Finally got around to getting it rebuilt. After taking it out and driving it around I tried to get on it once going from 2nd to 3rd and it still does the same thing. I did add 3.73's at the same time so it's not exactly the same set up. My questions are, do I have the same trans issue with my new trans, or is it a tune problem that could have been there from before? Or could even the 3.73's be causing it now?

Sorry, yes the car was tuned right after heads, cam and converter in 07. The slipping started to happen at that time. I was told the trans was on it's way out. And it seemed to me like it got worse all this year. It has not been tuned yet for the 3.73's. They were just added at the time of the trans rebuild. I was more just hoping to hear that it really points to a shift command issue. I just don't want to have to pull the trans back out.

That seems to be only real place to start. As you said, I think it just needs more time from command to shift. I just wanted to get some other opinions. Thanks guys!

just as performabuilt is saying - get it tuned for the gears and correct the shift points.
your 3.73s make it worse.
you're hitting those high rpms quicker, but your pcm is waiting for the mph to command the shift.
