Default Repair shift cable?

Is there any way to fix the end of the shift cable that hooks to the selector on the tranny? Mine broke when I was taking it off. Also, whats the part number for it? Thanks.

Not sure what's busted, but in the past I have replaced lost
ball-ends with a bolt, cross-drilled with a hole for the cable to
go through, and a nut to jam it in place.

Are you referring to the plastic part? If so, you need to replace the entire cable.
