Without any codes you have either a check ball that has stuck itself in the separator plate or a pump issue that is causing high line pressure. In most cases when a converter is going bad the trans will shift softer not the other way around. The only way I could see it causing it is if it is creating metal and sticking the pressure regulator valve. How was the fluid condition the last time you had the pan down?

i am having a similar problem, my shift out of 1st is slow and depending on how much gas i give it it will shift at 1500 all the way up to 2300rpm out of first. I think it was performabuilt who said it might actually be going from 1st to 3rd on the higher rpm shift. so im taking it to get looked at on friday. im just hoping it needs a fluid and filter change, a new transmission right know was not on my Christmas list.

the fluid was pretty brown lookin. i didnt see any metal shavings at all. i put an addative in to make it shift smoother. it worked for a couple days then lost it again. anyway, so what do you think the price range is for a repair of this problem?

will i be able to scan for tranny codes with a diablo sport? im picking mine up on monday so i can install a safe tune for my upcoming heads cam and intake upgrade till i get to a tuner. and say the problem is with a P.R valve or a trim valve, would this call for a rebuild or what?
