Default bellhousing to block bolts

Are there 8 or 9 bolts. My book says 8 and some guy told me he thinks there is 9. I have 8 out and can't find any more and I'm having trouble getting the tranny to let go of the block. But, if I know for sure I have all the bolts out I'll go at it with a pry bar in the morning. Thanks.

There are 9 holes in the trans and 8 holes in the block.
So you need to remove 8 bolts.
It's common for the trans to get stuck pretty good on the dowel pins.
Before you put it back in put some anti-seize on them for next time.
