Default Who do I use now??

Ive had a couple of transmissions from Century and they just dont seem to last with my low power car. They have great customer service but the product just doesnt last. Every time its something else that fails. Who has a 4l60e that will last with daily driving and a small vig2800 stall?

If you are having repeated failures thats strange, How long are they lasting , Its my understanding that Century builds a good trans have not seen any complaints? What types of failures are you having?

Its been different items. Once it was a band the next time it was "the beast" sunshell. Now I'm not sure what it is. Just looking for something to last. I don't want to bad mouth them but man I've spent so much money.

I really don't know what to tell you , I know any of us sponsors will be happy to help you, But as I said Century seems to have a good product from the reviews I have seen. I mean it may just be one of those deals of just really bad luck I have seen those before. Coincidental nightmares. Every different thing that can go wrong does.
I would try and work with them first for a solution then if you mutually agree that you cant come to on then contact all the sponsors here and talk to us.
Is odd though but like I always say sometime stuff just happens

You definitely do not make to much power to where a 60 should not last. What is the current failure you are having and how long have the units lasted you? What have you been doing with this car that might be causing these failures? What I'm saying is there are many things that even with a good build things can happen. If when you drive this car you are doing things that most builders would not recommend, you are going to have issues. Feel free to give us a call to discuss your options. Vince

This car was a daily driver until last year around August. Then it has been setting in the garage and only taken out for short trips and one trip to the track. The latest rebuild was at 132656 miles(6/20/07) which now it is around 136500. It was just taken out to have it redyno tuned for the cam. As it sits right now reverse comes in and out and so does 1st and 2nd. The car has had Royal Purple since day one on the transmission from Century and I have also taken it in for flushes once a year. It got driven to and from work most of its life 20k-25k miles a year mostly freeway. It has a cooler on it also. The car has been to the track on average twice a year. I have about $8000 in receipts, some are things like the flushes and transmount bushing and other odds and ends. Is this normal?

54000 New
69100 Shift Solenoids A and B replaced
69500 had issues with converter from stock transmission breakage(fins were bent) 3200 stall was actually like 4800 with fins bent
92000 flush
104283 flush
10900 Band broke
125000 flush
132700 "The Beast" sunshell broke

69100 Shift Solenoids A and B replaced -reason why they were replaced?

69500 had issues with converter from stock transmission breakage(fins were bent) 3200 stall was actually like 4800 with fins bent-You had a used converter from the previous trans in the new one?

92000 flush-?

104283 flush-?

10900 Band broke -what broke on it?

125000 flush-? 132700 "The Beast" sunshell broke-That is something I have not seen.

Do you have the line pressure raised above stock settings in tuning ?

Is converter being allowed to lock at low speeds in 2nd gear?

Dont take me wrong not trying to give you a hard time just looking for a common thing.

This all happend over about 52000 to 136000 miles and how many years ?

Solenoids were replaced due to I lost overdrive.

I was told by them that the converter was fine.

The band broke in a place they had never seen before, where the band meets the clip.

"The beast" cracked as I was told.

The tuning was done by MTI the first time and then again by G-Force later. I have no idea as to the line pressure setting.

This all has happend over the last 5 years.

So you have had two major failures in 5 years and 80000 miles? In a car with a 2800 stall and running high 11s? with a stage 1 trans.

My suggestion to you is to contact Century. If you are not satisfied with their response then I'm sure we can meet your needs.

Yes but, I would think more towards 3-4 years. Car has been sitting for almost a year and half. Am I asking too much out of a transmission? Seemed like I am on a year to year and a half transmission failure. When your wife notices that there were problems it made me really sit down and look at all the problems.
