Default 4l80e rear (yoke) seal question

when i pulled down my 4l80e (2005) it had the long splines on the rear output shaft, no o-ring-but it has a tube that was pressed on to the shaft, with an internal o ring, which must of sealed on the outside of the yoke-the tailshaft has the rear seal, and i think theres also an inner seal-i forgot to see if there was a threaded hole in the output shaft, like the bolt on yokes in turbo 400's
do i need this tube on there, as long as i use a yoke w/o a hole or bolt, shouldnt leak, same deal as a 400?

Yes as long as you have a non vented yoke you are fine. Make sure to get the long splined yoke with this output shaft. Vince
