Default budget beef up

I was wondering how I can go about beefing up my 4l60e whenever I pull it out for a converter. What are some good routes I can go that is very cost effective?

A transgo shift kit is good. It has parts that go inside the trans, so take it apart to put them in and also a beast sunshell and upgrade the 3-4 clutch.

Without going inside the trans, I would say a Trans-go shift kit, a good cooler, and a Trans temp gauge. This is what I have done preparing to put in a stall. I went with a B&M 24k cooler.
