I am fixing to install a 4l60e-c transgo kit,I am going to install a vigilante 2600 stall at the same time.I am going with the race/converter size holes in the valve body plate?I really need to know how harsh the shifts will be at part throttle with 3 spacers?I am personally thinking of installing two,any input would be of great help.

 

They can b objectionable if this is a daily driver. If that is the case you may want to start small and upgrade later. Again it is a personal preference and also depends on how much power your engine makes.

 

I'd start with one. It's easy enough to drop the pan and add more if you want to.
Plus the shift feel will be effected by the feed hole size in the plate, the second servo size and adjustment, ECM tuning, converter specs.

I can tell you this, too many gets old real quick. And I like to feel the shifts at low rpm, thats my personal preference. Too firm 1-2 shift can give you a misconception that the other shifts are too soft. And firming up the other shifts takes a little more work.

 

Personally with a 2600 stall keep the feed holes at .093. The spacers for the 1-2 accumulator are really for part throttle shift feel. If you have the early housing I would not use any spacers. This housing has a casting # on it that starts with an 8. Only use the gold spring seat supplied with the springs in the kit. If you have the later housing that starts with a 2, then one spacer will be needed to be used or you will bend the gold spring seat that comes with the kit. Good luck with the install. Vince

Yes, for my trans I went bigger and it had shift timing problems.
Got a new sep plate and went .093 on all the ones you drill and it was much better.
