Default Need some help...

Hey guys, just picked up a 95 Formula (4L60e) with some transmission problems. The guy before me had just put a JET performance controller on it and when he set it to "race" he said when he stepped on it the car downshifted and went BANG and now won't move in D. If I shift down to 1 it takes off fine and if you manually shift it up 1-D all is good... But if you are in D at say highway speed and step on it, it will not downshift, just rev up until the RPMs come back down. Also, while at highway speed, the car kinda shudders but I would say more or less shakes, I don't think it's the TC locking-unlocking. And when in P of N if I rev it up you can tell something is sorta shaking, I'm thinking TC. It also has a B&M stall on it, not sure of the speed. The fluid is still red, but I'm not sure if it is slowly getting darker, only drove it 50ish miles since it started acting up. I'm wondering if you guys think the torque converter is bad or something in the transmission? I read online that if the car doesn't move in D it could be the TC... And as you all know a new TC is much cheaper then a new trans. lol

Seeing as the TC looks new but B&M doesn't have the best rep I would hate to repair the trans only to have it be the TC or vice versa.

TIA for the help

~Bill

TC failure will cause problems in forward and reverse unless it is an apply shuddder. Sound like the fwd clutch or sprag are not hold. In manual ranges you get additional capacity so it will sometimes feel better.
