Default WTF no OD on my 4L60e

I don't have OD on my transmission so what kind of tranny do I have? and e or not but what I am looking for is that extra gear because I only have 1-4 and no OD or is the 4th considered a OD? I have 3.73 and they are killing me on gas but I love them so I don't want to get rid of them. So any ideas or comments on a good tranny I can switch to cause I am also looking to really increase my HP so strenth would be included. Thanks guys

How much power are you looking to make? Most people will tell you the same thing when it comes to getting a new transmission. Get in contact with one of the sponsers ===>

Are you sure its not shifting into 4th? Or is it just not locking the converter up?

Maybe he is missing the lockup so it is not getting the extra RPM pulldown.

sorry the extra gear I was refering to was for an upgraded transmission, I was told that the truck tranny has 1-4 + a OD, because highway driving cruising I sit at close to 3500rpm so I want something that will bring it down some more. I was confused because I see people put OD instead of 4th so I was thinking my car missed the year that it started. But I started looking into the 6L80 but no one has done that conversion yet and I have $$$ but not enough to be the 1st to do it.

How fast are you referring to when you say highway cruising? Im running 3.73s and at 60 mph im turning about 2000 rpms. Do you feel your tranny shift into 4th? Or just downshift into drive when your cruising and see if the rpms change...

He's probably in third at 60-65 when he is turning that many rpms. Your tranny may have **** that fourth gear. I could be wrong though.

I think I may be in 4th but i would say anywhere between 75-85mph. I never really paid any attention if it shifted or not, I am always on the look out for the police. I think they have a homing beacon on me.

Sounds fair enough if you're sitting on 75mph lol.

Gas consumption probably lies with your right foot

yeh I know and it is only going to get worse with the upgrades I am planning. I have been reading up on the 4L80 and I didn't know there was so much involved in the swap. But hey you get what you pay for right.

Well, if he goes close-ratio he can have .062 OD in the 4L65e. U loose the 3.06 1st gear though.
