Default 98-00 4l60e in 97 lt1???

I've stumbled across a low mileage 4L60E out of a 98-00 LS1 car, wondering if it would fit in my 97 ws6 formula? If not directly bolt in, could swapping the bellhousing make it work? What would be a fair price? He says it's under 50,000miles, but has been sitting for 2yrs. Thanks

No its more involved than the bell, the converter is different and they wont swap has a different pilot, uses a different stator and inout shaft , its probably not a practical swap since as far as I know no one makes the converter to do it, We once did it but it was a pain,

Not tryin to dog on you frank but,
I have a friend of mine that has a 97 lt1 camaro that put a ls1 4l60e in it. All he had to do was do some modifications to his flywheel and i believe thats it. he used a ls1 converter. Its be in and running for about a year now.

I believe he walloed out the holes in the flywheel. Made them a little bigger so he could get the bolt holes to line up. I'll double check when I see him tho.
It can be done. Just takes a little brain power. I would jump on the deal if i were you.

Well when we did it we found the converter pilot to be to deep and had to machine the pilot to fit and it was dangerously tin when we were done of course it was for the test vehicle we were using at that time, So if it broke through it would not be and issue, It never did however,

In this swap, are all cables a direct plug-in? I have someone looking to buy my 98 4L60E. He has a 95 Camaro w/4L60E.

Thanks

Didn't expect such a quick answer!
Another question..would swapping the converter from the LT1/4L60E "version" and placing it on the LS1 version solve the bolt line-up & pilot issues?
Other than this, are both trannies a direct bolt-up?

Thanks again.

Disregard this question. I didn't notice that this had been answered already.
