Default 4l60e Pinless 1-2 Acc. Piston with Transgo shift kit

Hey guys,

Just putting together a 4l60e using a transgo HD2 C shift kit and also pinless accumulator pistons. Just wanted to verify the stackup of the 1-2 accumulator.

I've got the 3 spacers, spring locator, blue and orange springs from the transgo kit as well as a sonnax pinless accumulator piston. What are everyone's opinions on how this should be setup??

If setup as per the transgo instructions, the height of the piston will likely hit the separator plate and the orange spring won't be doing much.

What has everyone else been doing with theirs??

Cheers

The orange spring should go between the piston and seperator plate. By what you say about the piston, that orange spring should be doing a lot.
I would not use three spacer washers, with that piston I wouldn't use any.

I've always used aluminum pin type pistons in the 1-2 accumulator.

You cannot use the TransGo spring setup with the pinless accumulators on the 2nd accumulator, use must use the aluminum piston with the pin. Never use the spacers, as this only firms up the 1-2 part throttle shift, and does very little if anything for the WOT shift, and is very hard on the gear train.
