Angry 4l60e slipping, help???

Little history...first stock transmission with SSF3500 and cooler died on me. Due to uncontrolled circumstances at the time, had to go back to the dealership for a new transmission/TC (bought a new 4l60e from the dealership, thinking I was playing it safe at the time). Six months later the new transmission starts slipping out of gear while cruising on the highway at 60mph or so...after cruising at that speed for a few minutes pressing the accelerator would only flash the rpms. Took it back to the dealership and they replaced it (for the first/last time due to my headers) with out being able to provide any real answer as to the original cause. Six months later, THAT tranny starts doing the exact same thing...slipping out of gear on the highway. I have been babying the car ever since the first transmission went out on me, so it's not a matter of hardcore abuse. I've been milking it for quite some time now in it's current state, afraid to take it to another shop who will just want to replace it again without knowing the root cause...I just don't want to waste more money like I did the first time when I thought I was playing it "safe". Any ideas at all?...I loved my car with the old TC in it, now the damn thing just makes me want to /wrists every time I drive it.

Thanks

Have you checked for line leaks or fluid level? I'd run my eyes looking at the lines and see if you don't have a small leak on the lines or by the rad, thats nuts though man!

Well she goes in for oil changes pretty religiously and never have they mentioned (or have I noticed) the transmission fluid excessively low...and I live in an apartment complex so it would be difficult to notice any obvious driveway stains/leaks that haven't already been there forever. I'm currently on the last leg of a Deployment but I'll keep that in mind when I get back...thanks for the reply!

I haven't visited this site in a few years but I remembered how many subject matter experts run/frequent it...this was just a last ditch effort in hopes of "Oh yeah, I've seen that, it's probably just your ..." (and yes, I did check the stickies first!)

Well the long term life of a stock trans with a stall is generally not very good , They just are not up to the task.

Yeah but stock stall, normal driving (almost no beating on it what so ever), and same "issue" two trannies in a row. I guess it's just time to buy something bigger and better, that's what I get for trusting the dealership guys.

Thanks...this car is my d/d and will probably never see 400hp or the track, the level 1 with a 3600 2.1 should do the trick?

Well I'm in the middle of the gulf right now (for a "couple" more months) and wouldn't have any where to keep it at my 3rd floor apartment until I got back. If I can work something out with a shop near by, I can have the g/f drop off the car...and I'll definitely take you up on that. How long can I expect to have until that deal runs out?

Unknown on how long, They tell me when to start and when to stop 1 day in advance,
I do know this several people in your position have done one of two things
1-put it on layaway its fixes the price for you and cost no more and you can take as long as you like to pay.
2-Just buy it and defer shipping till you are ready for it , We have several guys doing that also right now.
