Th400 and High RPM?
Hello,
Can anyone tell me what sort of issues would be seen if a th400 was to be strapped to an engine that was going to see 10500 rpm on the drag strip. 3100 lbs wet, 1200 whp/750 ftlbs(manual box) and 4.111 rear with 26 to 28 inch tires.
What would be essential during building, I was told things are washy above 9500.
Thanks

Direct drum sprag retaining ring. Use a spirolock type, and tack it...
Use of an aluminum direct drum is advised so the stock cast iron one doesn't disintegrate from RPM (although I've seen the stock drums take 12,500 at twice your power level).
Balancing all the parts is also a good idea.
Lightweight planetary sets (Coan makes nice ones, and I would also call John Kilgore)
