Transmission Shifting Issues/Troubles
Okay car is a 2000 Trans Am has 44k miles, stock trans, stock converter, stock tuning everything. Trans fluid level is fine!!! I have trans temp, let the car warm up etc.
If I go to cruise down the street light throttle the car will not upshift to 2nd gear, I have to let off the gas to get it to shift.
If I go to a dead stop and floor it the car will spin the tires pull as hard as it always does and some times it will hit the 1-2 rev limiter or it will be very sluggish on the 1-2 shift.
If I roll 50 MPH and I floor it the car will downshift kind of hesitate the RPM's will go up a little fall then it will pull just like normal.
Is this a shift solenoid problem? Converter problem? Anything I should look at/check?

I agree with TP its sounds like a band slipage problem, Its possible the band already burnt however I would check the 1-2 accum. How many miles are on the trans

Okay just looked at it more today fluid is at the perfect level, fluid does not smell burnt, I see/feel no grit in it. Plugged in a scan tool there is no codes for the trans just No AIR/EGR, No cats, from my LT's and ORY.
The car will take off just fine in 1st gear spin the tires and all but will not hit the 1-2 shift it will hit the limiter.
If you cruise the car the car will continue to rev to like 4k then shift into second then immiedtially shift into 3rd.
If you cruise at like 45 and floor it the car will downshift into 2nd gear and then instantly shift back into 3rd gear way early.
So pretty much it's like the car is babying 2nd gear and not going into the gear. 4th gear is fine everything else is fine trans doesnt slip just will not go into 2nd.
My question is where should I start drop the pan? Look at something else. What should I be looking at when I drop it I know check to see if there is a lot of grit or anything laying in the pan. Change filter why I am there etc. Any help is greatly appreciated, take the valve body down.
Should I start looking for a new trans?

If you did the electronic diagnosis, a break out box would be excellent here, or a tuner that can run the trans manually. The break out box would eliminate electrical or mechanical problem. I believe you could have a cracked accumulator. Many were plastic and cracked around the pin area. I NEVER BUILD A TRANS WITHOUT REPLACING THEM! Until it happens, there is no reason to go into the trans to change them. There are different sizes and pin diameters, so wait until you get it apart before purchasing. You did the right thing by immediately stopping, rather than driving into the ground. Keep us posted.
PS, don't forget new seals.

Update: Dropped the trans pan, no unusual debree/grain the magnet had a little bit on it fluid was a little dirty. I dropped the accumulator inspected it, it didnt look cracked but I replaced it wit a brand new one any way. Put it all back together with new trans filter, and gasket, filled it up with some new fluid, went to drive it and same thing!!!
Any ideas now?

We already put the scanner on it, everything is working fine, it commands it to shift its just super delayed and then shifts right out of 2nd gear. I will have access to a Tech 2 again on Friday what would you like for me to do/look at?

I wanted to make sure it wasnt something stupid first so I got the scanner on it. TPT PM'ed you.
