Trans brake and stall question!
good info, my last track time, i tried to build boost off the line, so i pushed the TBbrake, stalled it to 4k with it floored. it took about 3 seconds and then the boost shot to 10psi. i let off and hazed the Dradials, went back to the trailer and had a bearing knock. just checked it out and its the trust bearing and the builder said it was from the crank being pushed forward. it that because the converter ballooned? its a pro edge converter with anti ballooning plate. t400 trans, 9 inch rear, chromoly DS. I dont know my hp but at 12psi my 60lb injectors are at 108% boost referenced.
Every second on the trans brake heats the trans oil 30-50*, so if you are already at 180-200* in the trans, and stand on the t-brake for 3 seconds, you are going to have problems. You definitely need a strong and purpose built converter for the brake. You need a way to advance the timing while on the brake to build boost fast, so you only need to be on it as little as possible.
