Default 4l60e LT1 Trans behind LS1 will it work

Ok I searched can't find the answer but will a lt1 trans work behind a Ls motor? I can get a 5.3 complete and was wondering if I can bolt this to my trans in my car. I have a rebuilt 4l60e with a vigilante 3500 stall. I was wanting to take this 5.3 bore it out and install factory ls1 pistons in it I checked part # on the crank and it is the same # as the 5.7l I read in other post that bored .030 makes a 5.3 a5.7

So a LT1 stall and tranny will work behind a LS motor with just a spacer? What if you have a LS bellhousing? What about the electronics, plug and play?

96 up electronics are the same. You cannot use and LSx bell on a lt-1 trans.

So the OP wants to bolt a 5.3 to an LT1 4L60E?
Should bolt right up.

No ones bolting an LT1 trans to an LS1 in this thread.

I guess I was thinking of the early LS based 6.0 that used a 4L80E and converter that could bolt right to a Gen1, or in my case a Mark IV big block.

That is not related to the lt1/ Ls1 transmission they are not that much different. There is another problem such as throttle position, vehicle speed, power to the transmission ETC....

And most would believe you. A small block is still a small block no matter how you package it. Corvette engine just sounds impressive to some.

please tell me your joking.....

the LS1 and LM5/LM7 have the same block, just different bore, and material. if it will work on the LS1, it will work on the 5.3. simple as that.
