Default Wierd Shifting.. Help please

I have a 1995 z28 with 115k miles... I just bought it for 3400.00 when i stomp on it it will haul *** to about 4500 rmp then it wont shift it will bouce for 4k to 4500 rpm but wont shift until i let off the gas. Same thing happens when i am n the highway just rolling and i stomp it and it will run all the way to high rmps but wont shift until i get off the gas..... Please does anyone know anything abut this HELP ME....

Default you got probs

i had a 95 caprice lt1 that did the same thing just bounced of rev limiter but if you just putted around it would shift. went it finnaly went out a few thousand later found that the sunshell tabs actually started separating and ate through the top of the case

If it will only reach 4500 rpms then you have an engine performance problem. Try the fuel filteror fuel pressure first. Check for codes also.

well if no mods have been done and speedo is correct may be the trans is going 115000 in a camaro is alot

And TP good point should rev a bit higher before bouncing something to consider,

well if i get on it until about 4k then let off a lil then it gives a good hard shift and will scrach second but if i dont let off it bounces the rev. i have a light on the dash but idk what it is, its a square with a arrow pointing down to it looks like water but idk... all the advice will help guys... thanks

well whats a sunshell tabs? and what case?

If it IS in fact the sunshell it is rebuild time. Put a BEAST sunshell back in the rebuild and you will never have this issue again. The case is the big thing that that all the parts are in........

i called a transmission shop and got a quote of 1300 to do a complete rebuild throw out the stock sunshell put a forged one in and with a 2500 stall converter. is that a good quote?

I would consider getting a trans built by a shop that specializes in these such as one of the sponsors here , We do these every day, If not us there is FLT, TP, and others.

But before I even did that I would get the car scanned for codes.

yeah well this guy is know in town for building all of the fbodys transmissions and a group called pure dominance swears by him. plus i dont wanna go out of town if i dont have to
