Yea it helps alot from a roll as well. My yank PT3800 flashes to 4500 rpm's eleminating the typical "dead spots" for the auto. Also with the convertors shift extension my rpm's never drop below 5k after shifts under WOT, keeping you closer to the power band...

O1ws666 is correct. A performance converter will help get the car in the power band, even if you are already moving. They are also about 15 LBS lighter, so less rotating mass for the motor - free HP.

Do a search on "Shift Extension" or "Shift Differential"

I took the stock 12'' out last night and it is a TANK. The 9.5'' Circle D +4C I have is svelte compared to that pile. Naturally, it will hold less fluid as well so the weight drops there too.

No other single modification will improve and wake up an A4 LS1 better than a good converter.

Well, maybe a procharger.

Heres proof.
Top pic is a drained stock converter on a certified scale. This is AFTER draining 8 pounds of fluid out of it.

Bottom pic is a Circle-D 3c.
