Default fbody 4l60e questions

Im doing a v6 to v8 swap in my camaro, im basically done minus the tranny. I was going to swap the belhousing on my v6 trans and call it a day, planning to use the 3800 converter to achieve a higher stall.

Would there be any problems with this.

teh convertere is a different dimensions and will require and adapter to an LS engine assuming that is what you are converting to.

Yea, using an ls engine. What kind of adapter is needed? What kind of stall speed would I be looking at roughly using that converter? What kind of stall speed would I see if I just used a regular ls converter out of a 5.3 tahoe?

It is not that High probably in the 1600 - 2000 range for the 3800 converter. The truck ones are around 1200 - 1500 just estimates.

I'd say your best bet is to get an fbody bell housing. ideally speaking, that would be the easiest, then simply swap the housings and no more problems.

Actually its a bit more complicated. The v6 has a different input shaft than the LSX or LT-1 also the converter pilot is a different size than either. The best thing IMO get the right trans/converter combination for the engine you are running, Second best change the input shaft, stator , bell and get a converter made for and ls1.

The 3.4 v6 or the 3.8 v6, they have different housings and input shafts, I have the 3.8 does that make a difference. I really cant afford a new trans for this swap, I really didnt budget it because I was told I could use it.

Can anyone tell me how far the input shaft on the ls1 trans sticks out? From the front of the seal to the end of the shaft.
