Tranny will not downshift manually..................

Tranny will not downshift manually.................. All of a sudden the other day I'm in OD doing about 50, I put the shifter in 3 and absolutely nothing at all happened. Nothing happens if I go to 2 or 1st either. But if I'm at a stop light and take off the tranny upshifts just fine.
Only thing I can tell you that I did recently (2 months ago) is had my Vig 3600 re-stalled to 3200 and I did not do a retune of the PCM yet. Since I put it in its been way looser than the 3600.
But now this all of a sudden. Fluid is full and very clean. Also, if I'm sitting still in D with my foot on the break and I move the shifter from 1 to 2 to D and back to 1 or 2, the rpms jump up a tad for each new position. And lastly, if I start out with the shifter in 2 the car feels like it has a 6000 stall (sarcasim), it barely moves at all then it will finally go normally.
I've had everything since the new Vig 3200 went in, but the downshifting thing is new.

Re: Tranny will not downshift manually.................. the newer trannys will start off in second gear if you put it there but the older ones will still start in first and just not upshift.
about the rest off it i dont what is wrong. maybe when you had it tuned the first time they set it to not downshift once you pass a certain speed(like the pcm does but manually). maybe you have a bad electrical connection so it doesnt realize that your in 3-2-or-1.
did you do the install yourself? is everything hooked up properly? i know there is a wire that goes to the back of the trans and i unhooked it a few times but it didnt seem to do anything. maybe you forgot to hook it back up when you put the tranny back in.

Re: Tranny will not downshift manually.................. I didn't do it. A tranny shop put it in and it's been just fine untill 2 days ago it started doing this. It has upshifted and downshifted manually at any speed since I had it put in.
Maybe some kind of default with the converter/PCM.
These cars suck in some ways man.
