Google some pictures. Other than some saying 4L60E on the side. And theres a huge difference in say a 4L60E from a 2.8 liter, a 4L60E from a '96 5.7, and one from an LS1.
Are you going to look at it and come back and post what you saw?
And post up what exactly you're looking for so people can post specific information.
I have a spare LS1 4L60E and can post all the pics you need but I don't know if thats what you're looking for.

Thats off an LS1
I can tell by the crank pilot on the torque converter, the bolt on the top of the bellhousing, and the tail housing with the TA mount holes.
Even the flattened dipstick tube (be sure to get that), the mounts for the wiring harnesses, the shift lever and cable.

I'm trying to do some research on the 4L60e I picked up, I was told it was from a 1999 4.3 Astrovan. I do know it is a late 4L60e because of the six bolt tailshaft housing and 2-piece bellhousing.
I'm wanting to bolt this up to my 2004 Gen III vortec engine in my 1976 Camaro, I know the bellhousing is correct so that will bolt up.
Am I going to have any issues with the Torque convertor not lining up or bolting incorrectly to the flywheel? I was under the impression that all late 4L60e's are a direct fit to gen III engines but wanted to make sure since I'm not familiar with astrovan 4.3 engines.
If the torque convertor crank pilot is the issue, could I swap it out for a LS torque converter? I've been looking into a higher stall anyways.
The casting on my tranny is 24207965 if that helps...
