6l80e
A friend has a 560 rwhp 2008 G8. The only other person I know directly that has a 6L80E with a power adder is an 2007 Corvette with a Novi 2000 from ECS. It's running extremely low boost and makes right around 510-515rwhp. I believe his car has 45k miles on it now. It's had the SC for about 30k miles now. He doesn't beat on it constantly, but he's on the boost every day at least once.
Anyone which can give input on the below please let us know...Thanks...
Vehicle rwhp/rwtrq Miles since modding current status (holding up still, failure?etc.)

i have a 3000 stall for my 6l80e when the car get here it will be getting a new engine, stall, and long tube's/x-pipe, a small shot of nitrous, hp tuners for tuning and a large trans cooler and i guess ill see how much the 6l80e can take,, im pretty sure it will be fine for a while

I'm not sure I have heard of someone killing it yet. However, I would assume the C6 vette crowd that had the 6L80E would likely have the most exposure. I'm guessing someone has to have killed one by now. There isn't a plethora of information out on this trans yet so lets try to keep this thread going. More info the better.
The only thing I've noticed with the 6L80E isn't really a hp level concern as much as it doesn't seem to like the rpm as much. Boosted and supercharged cars are still running the lower rpm range. The cammed cars being shifted at near 7k are the only thing it really doesn't seem to like. I haven't found any slippage yet, only a delayed shift.

Thanks!
Plus I would like some peace of mind that the tranny should hold up to more power.
Well, I am paying for it to be rebuilt because it was making a horrible screeching sound from 3000 to 4000 rpm when the converter wasn't locked, and was shifting horribly. As soon as I put the converter in it the tranny let go. Went back to the stock converter and the problem was still there, so I shipped the tranny to OH.

im glad to see RPM's is the only real killer thus far. I dont think you need to spin a motor to the moon to make good power. we are planning on heads/ blwoer cam and a procharger or TT's and either way we wont need to spin it to 7k or anything
At times, turbos can actually benefit from dropping shift points (ex...dropping a 6,000 shift point to 5700 in a TT G8 may be a good thing...looking at the torque peak, etc.).
