I'm sorry to hear that sheesnaz. It sounds like the tranny issue, in your case, may have occurred as a result of the mechanic/dealer. On a side note...I just spoke to Mike Haddad yesterday regarding a potential mod purchase. He told me that his 100% mechanically stock transmission (he did mention he has made some changes to trans tuning) has been going hard for almost 20k of hard mileage (almost a year has elapsed since installing the TVS) under boost. His car has been making over 500rwhp for quite some time now with a PD blower (near instant torque hit). He said he is amazed at this transmission. He said "Nobody drives their car harder than I do". Obviously these aren't 20k of miles which has only seen infrequent situations of WOT or boost. Wanted to share that info. It sounds like some tuning mods (notably...not turning OFF the TM altogether) may help the trans as well.

The hard part is keeping enough tm to protect the hard parts without killing power. All the tunes I have tried have been all or nothing via hp tuners. I don't want to turn TM all the way off, but driveabilty sucks with it on.. I'm around 450RWHP with a 3600 stall.. I've killed one tranny so far... under 8k miles..Someone needs to release a quality tune for these things...

Im running a TT LS7 in a G8 Wagon (Holden) the 6L80 has only recieved a simple rebuild and is hanlding 700rwhp with no problems. daily driver , but gets driven sideways every now and then. The 6L80 aint the best box, but if you are smart it can still live behind a stout mall block.

Im running a twin Turbo LS7 in a G8, making around 700rwhp. Done 25k so far with no problems. If you are drag racing or street racing though this wouldnt be my choice of box, but if your smart about the power application it can be fun , especially breaking traction at 100mph!!

OP, sorry I didnt read this whole thread but if youre looking for a 06 C6, I say look at an 08. You get a LS3 and youd be suprised how close they are in price. I recently was shopping around and found many very clean low mileage 08 c6s for $18k to 24k. Good luck.

Alto makes 2 power packs available for them and raybestos will have one by the end of next month that will be all stage 1 reds with all kolene steels, I know I have seen hubs and intermediate shaft break around 700rwhp. TCS out of canada just released a new intermediate shaft and are available with the same guys who have the Alto stuff. I have seen a ton of thermography testing on these and there will be some nice stuff rolling out in the next year.

My G8's tranny is all stock, just in the tune I upped WOT line pressure by 50% and stuck with a .2998 1-2 shift, and .2500 on the rest of the shift tables. Then for safety there's a 25% Torque Management that I instilled. So far my tranny has held for 10,000 miles at 601 RWHP, absolutely no problems, and I drive it like a freaking maniac. Hope that helps.
