Help w/ trans temp guage!
I'v had this electric Autometer trans temp guage installed for a couple of months w/ no problems. Last night the guage went to the far right after I started the car and would not move. I left the car paked overnight...When I started the car today, it looked like it was working fine. I reved the car a few times and the guage started jumping with the rpms and then it stayed to the far right. I have checked the connections at the guage and at the trans, everything looks fine. Any ideas what it could be?
Thanks

I'd say your signal wire is shorted to ground. Unplug the signal from the gauge and where does it go? all the way to the left I think..
I'm guessing direct short to ground would be all the way to the right.
Check the entire signal wire for shourts and frays and such.

I check the signal wire, all the way to the trans. None of the wire is exposed & it is secured tightly at the trans & guage.
I unhooked it for now, I guess I'll try to rewire it all and go from there.
The air/fuel guage is still working normal...

How did you mount/install your gauge? I want to do the same thing with mine to keep tabs on where its running.
I have the same problem except mine didn't start doing that until recently. Sometimes it jumps back and forth then stays at the far right. I turn the gauge a little bit and it fixes it. Maybe it could be internal? I know for a fact it is installed correctly.
