GM considered plastic an upgrade so it wouldn't damage the bore. Any dealer is going to give you a plastic one. If they special order it, they won't know what it's made of until they see it.

I'd use ebay. 1-2 accumulator piston Transtar under $10 USD.

Every part you work on with this kit is a sub-assembly.

Meaning you can set up the 1-2 accumulator, then put it aside.
Set up the valve body, set it aside.
set up the servo, set it aside.
Drill out the plate, set it aside.

PAGE 1
Step 1 Set up and Install the servo. (good to do with the valve body is set aside and you can see the band)

Step 2 Remember what piston size you have (second servo) remember it so you can choose the right accumulator spring IN THE VALVE BODY.

Page 2
Do all the work to the valve body and turn the page.

Page 3
Put the converter isolator valve in. Now set the valve body aside.

Page 4
Drill the holes in the plate and set it aside.
Install the boost valve.

Page 5
Grab all the parts you have setting and ready to go and install them on the transmission.

This is so you can concentrate on one thing at a time.

Oops, I did not intend to link to a plastic piston; I thought it was aluminum. I have only disassembled a handful of older 4L60E, but at least 50% of the plastic pistons were cracked. Perhaps the new ones are better, but the aluminum seem like the safest bet.
