Talking SS3600 results are in!

To parallel the SS4000 results are in thread I thought I'd start one for my new SS3600 and F13 cam.

1st run ever with converter - 1.71 60' 11.95 @ 114
2nd run on hot lap - 1.69 60' 11.92 @ 114

Not bad for 275/40/17 Nitto DRs

Got exactly what I was hoping for. Hit 11's with my daily driver, grocery getter, droppin my daughter off at day care, 9 year old, 90k mile Camaro .

This converter is very well mannered around town, highly recommended!

Brake/stall to 1500 on first pass = 1.71, up to 2000 on second pass = 1.69. You may want to stall up to 1000 or 1500 with the 3200. Flashing from idle is too much for DRs. I think the trick is you want it to flash, but not too much or the tires wont hook. I also tried stalling it to 2400 and only cut a 2.0, car just bogged . Also, heat up the Nittos real well.

Or BFGs.

When I had 3.73s with the SS3600, I revved up to about 1800 and stabbed it. 1.62s with ease. 1.52 on a 100 shot.

Then I changed to 3.50 gears in a Moser 9" and Mickey Thompsons. To help it get off he line better, 2300rpms seems to work. I pulled a 1.45 with a 125 shot.

Do you have LCA relocation brackets? They will help out a lot!

Guys, the Nittos were given to me for free. I realize they aren't the best DR, but I'm going to use them until they're done.

Suspension is stock. Car is full weight. Daily driver.

This was my first time to the track with a converter. I'd only been driving it a week. Never launched it. I goto the track maybe once a year. I'm pleased so far and I'll improve. Thanks for the advice.

when you say well mannered around town could you elaborate?

I was thinking of doing a 2800-3200 stall, but I'm starting to get suckered in looking into the 3600 range and it seems most people don't have any complaints.

I'm talking serious daily driver material here...lots of in town (think small town) stop and go traffic. What are your thoughts on mpg and general annoyance?

My daily drive to work is 2 lights, highway, 2 lights so I was less concerned about the 3600. But I have also driven it in stop and go and I can tell you its noticeable, but not that annoying at all. It all depends on how fast you want to get going from a stop. If you just give it a little gas it will barely climb over 1500 as it climbs up to 40 mph. If you need to get going a little bit faster it will climb to 2500, get a little louder and get you to 40mph faster. Then it will lock up at 48mph. The Yank 3600 is proven by soo many on here. I think you'll be dissapointed if you go any lower. Heck some people are daily driving the 4000's now.

Nice 60's, I love my SS3600. But the best I could manage is 1.75'. I need more power.

Best time before the stall and cam was a high 1.9 60' and a high 12.9 pass. I usually averaged about a 2.0 60' and low 13's in the 1/4.
