Default Clunky torque converter? Help!

I just got my Vig 2800 converter back from P.I. after getting a new converter clutch put in. I noticed that when I pulled it out of the box I could feel something inside the converter shift and make a clunking sound. I do not remember it doing that the first time I installed it. I would guess the stator or something is shifting back and forth. Is this normal? Did I just not notice it the first time?

Yes this is normal the internals basically just float in there and are only held in place by the pump stator and input shaft in the trans.

Ok, thanks. I figured that was probably the case, but I just wanted to make sure. I had never noticed them doing that before.
