Anyone wish they had an M6?
hahaha, i hate my m6...i got a buddy with a pt4400 and i love it. M6s are such a bitch to keep up with, clutch costs are a joke and look at all the super fast cars....there all auto. dont get me rong they can be fun but if i could go back id get an auto with a bad *** stall
Im going from a "lightly" prepped T56 with an awesome clutch to a built th400 with a 3k stall. never driven an auto built LS1... so we'll see
Im only swapping to the auto because it'll be better for staying in boost during shifts and A LOT easier to maintain on the highway than shifting and re-building boost.
Set up is: speedinc 370, 9.2:1, 6L heads, patriot dual springs, 228/228 .588 .588 on a 115LSA, KYTP front mount TC78 coated and wrapped hot parts, th400 with 3k stall, 12 bolt soon(on 10bolt now with stock gears) and selling ALL of the factory drivetrain parts. goal is 750+rwhp at 15-20psi. pure highway car, very little track use
Old set up was: modified STS kit (which will be sold as well) with TRT intercooler kit and 42Lb injectors. with the cam stated above, the car put down 515/521 @ 7.5psi on stock bottom end

first time you drive it, it will feel like driving through mud, or towing/dragging something really heavy behind you. you wont be used to your car not reacting normally. after you get used to the stall, you will realize you have to reach higher rpms to move the car but when you hit them its like getting kicked in the back. so you learn to give the car more gas when taking off and it drives just like normal but the rpms go higher.
When I first got the car I wished I had a manual. I even started saving for the M6 swap. Then a friend introduced me to the world of drag racing and big stalls. So I went out and bought a TCI 3500 stall which was a blast. Now I have a Circle-D 4400 stall that lifts my front tires on the stock 10 bolt!
There's just no going back for me now. It's too much fun watching the manual guys in my rearview mirror at the track

No it actually isn not the stall that kills the tranny. Its the driver change like any thing that makes you go faster it just makes you wanna do it more often, The converter will not kill your trans its that knee jerk uncontrolable reaction that pushed the throttle to the floor that does lol

I prefer the Auto over the M6.
I've spent plenty of time behind the wheel of both auto and manual trans vehicles. Getting the A4 is the only thing I regreat about my TA. An auto is generally better for drag racing, but a manual is better for roadracing or autocross. Having the A4 decide to downshift when I'm at the edge in a curve is NOT fun. And a manual is just plain fun.
I don't think I'll spend the money to swap in an M6 though. Tha TA is currently getting a makeover, but that's mostly cosmetic.
My next project, though... I am looking for a '72 Vette with the pop-out glass in the notch, preferably non-numbers matching. Hell, I don't care if it HAS an engine. Or an interior even. I basically just want a clean body. The plan is to outfit it with a C5 suspension, 6 speed, and an LS6 in the 550-600HP range.
