I got a 383 being built and im wondering how long the trans is going to last?
What should i keep my rpm's at to be a little safer on the trans?
Ive spinned that trans at 6300 all day with my old set up with no problem.

 

Not trying to be a smart *** but the trans is on borrowed time the minute you leave the dealer. Some last most don't, plan on replacing or rebuiliding with a good unit. Mine burnt up the clutches at 36K miles. My advice if you don't want to go into the trans now just run it and every mile you get out of it enjoy it.

Also it's not the rpm that hurts the trans it's hp, tq, gears, tires, launches many variables.

 

I have 66000 miles on mine with the mods in my sig. I am on my 23rd bottle and still good as new.
What kind of setup are you running?
Did you change fluid on a regular basis?
Did you have a tranny cooler?
Maint. is a big factor in auto trannys.

 

DO NOT GET AN OUTLAW TRANS they repalced mine 3 times and not one made it 50 miles and the third just went out and not even 20 miles so take it for what its worth take the time and get as much input from others as you can i didnt and me as well as many others have paid the price
