They list there prices on there website. Most expensive part I think was the torque drive kit . All these parts start to add up but if you look at alot of the stage 2/3 trannys talked about on the boards some dont even have some of this stuff Ive listed and cost well over 2 grand. I am sure they are great but my car gets driven all the time and raced almost nightly on the street so I need the best parts I can get . Id hate to pay 2 grand for just better clutches a corvette servo and the beast sunshell . Those parts dont cost very much.

seems like you are planning on rebuilding the tranny yourself...i am thinking of trying...

i wonder if all the parts were bought how much someone would charge for the labor of rebuilding...

I actually have a guy building it for me. I help out alittle. I pay 300.00 for the build since I supplied the parts. The builder has done lots of these trannys and has had a worked 700r4 in his 406ci Impala for over 7 years now without any problems. As stated before the build is very important there are so many possible things to mess up in these trannys if you dont know what you are doing it can be a big mess.

I have the Mega Hoss Deluxe from KDS and installed it myself; I added a few other options, large pan, cooler and TCI racing fluid.

Seem to be a strong setup, I don’t have a lot of track time on it, but have not seen any problems.

The clutches in my stock Trans looked fine, 4th had some wear. The sun shell did not take the abuse so well. Duh broke the sun shell. The stock 4l60e can hold up well if you cool it down some. The sun shell looks to be the weakest part in the stocker.

What has been upgraded in the 4l65e?

a decent amount has been upgraded inthe 65e, but gm specs it for only 5100 rpm shift points? i dunno

its supposed to handle 400 ft lbs of tq...whoopy...it does come with an upgraded input/output shaft...there is an article somewhere...do a google search

it 1800 bucks new on gmpartsdirect i saw...

i think an upgraded 4l60e is a better bet

2nd in my trans is slipping...thats why im looking for a rebuild asap...

Has anyone used the TCI perfromance rebuild kit for 4L60E? I got that one because it was a good price and i am not running a lot of hp so i figured it would be ok. Does anyone know about it or maybe exactly waht parts it has? I already bought it but havent installed it yet. The part number is #378951.

Good luck,I've broken a transmission with all those parts.I've burned up 2 sets of clutches, broken a 5 pinion planetary gear, flipped a 29 element sprag and blown 2 front pumps.Nothing is truely bullet proof. You've probably got a better chance of making it work in an f-body,but my 5700lb Tahoe is getting a 4L80E this week.

Great to hear that, to be honest when I did mine I did not think it was going to back it's self out. Any leaks? What kinda pan did you use? I got a Derale it was one the cheaper pans but it's very nice I would recommend it to anyone. I also got a b&m racer cooler; I think I will be getting one of the Derale coolers later. Fittings on my B&M are leaking...

I think I checked my fluid for weeks after I did my install... it would seem too easy to burn the thing up because of low fluid.

Keep us updated!

I used the stock pan . I am goig to change my fluid in a week or so and I will probly go with a better pan at that time. I just didnt want to spend money on a pan until I knew it would be going for a while even though they are cheap.

The new tranny is slipping hard in 3rd and 4th gears.

Your trans could be slipping because of the cars power...

Did you check the clearance of the clutches? You upgraded the servo's right? Both where after market? If those are not right then you could have problem like this. Fluid level ok? “I know I know but that could be the problem”? What kinda fluid did you end up going with? I put a tci racing fluid in mine; I think the tci stuff is type f? Or the older stuff “not “dextron”

Did you take any of the valves out of the valve body? Did you use a pump aliment tool?
