Default Front pump blew out

My Tahoe just trashed transmission number 4.I've broken every part imaginable at the track but this time I was driving at 70mph on the Interstate when I lost power with no warning. The pump that failed was a 13 vane less than 2000mi old.Is this a common occurance with a 4L60E?I'm no angel behind the wheel and the truck is supercharged, but how can something like this happen especially 500mi from home.I was in Baton Rouge and received help from the guys at Thunderracing which made it possible for me to get the truck loaded on a rented truck and trailer to get home and my builder warranted the transmission.Has anyone else ever had a problem like this?PS,I know where I'm buying my parts from next time, the guys at Thunderracing were super, they did'nt know me from Adam but were willing to help, thanks again guys.

The transmission was built by a local shop with every performance part we could find. He's stood behind his work, but I'm looking into a built 4L80E this winter. The Tahoe weighs over 5700lbs and turns 13.20s at over 101mph.I don't think a 4L60E can be built strong enough to withstand that kind of punishment as a daily driver. It's just frustrating to kill the transmission on a road trip.

My FLP level IV was good for about 25 11.0 passes and I drove the car all the time. I put about 200 passes on the trans before I sold it.

Good luck that sucks, but it sounds like you had a lot of line pressure.

I spoke with FLP today and he's about convinced that their Level 4 4L65E may be the way to go.From what I've seen posted on this sight everybody seems to have good luck with the FLP transmissions.

dont tahoes come std with the 4l80e? i dont know for sure but i thought most of the trucks did because their curb weight is so much higher id think it needs a much better tranny to hold any decent amount of hp and tq. Thats why dodge has had so many setbacks with the V10 ram...the 6 speed manual just wasnt up to the task even though it would be fine in a viper add 1500lbs to it and it becomes a much harder task. JMO but even that 4L65 may have problems in the future but thats just what id assume not that i know.

Tahoe does not come with the 4L80E, it has the 4L60E.

Whitt, you are obviously needing a really good solution.

A 4L80E might be difficult, a bit spendy, but it should take 800 hp.

When you repeated blow trannies you are either getting inferior parts, inferior rebuilds, have crap in your converter and lines that needs to be flushed or other similar problems.

Last time I saw someone blowing pumps a lot we more or less traced it to screwed used converter and the lines were not flushed out.
