Default Rev Limiter?

I've got an intermitent issue with the A-4 in my 2002 WS6. Going to pass at say 50 mph and punch it to the floor so it will shift down and go. RPM's go way up and I get like the fuel has been cut off for maybe 5seconds and then it will go. No noises, no engine problems, just like the computer decided I couldn't have all the power that fast.

Question is, am I hitting the rev limiter? I was told when I asked this on another thread that, no, the A-4 will not rev high enough between shifts to hit the limiter.

Doesn't happen all the time. Just occationally and only when I floor it. If I don't go full throttle it always shifts fine. Once it shifts it flies. There is no other power issues with the car. I over maintain it. So fuel filter, etc. yada yada is all new. Only has 50k on it. Car is stock, mostly.

I'm asking in the Auto thread about what this may mean. Input is good.
