YEah highschool chicks! DO you want to win races or impress chicks. Give a chick a ride in a stalled auto and if she doesn't scream in excitement or go ballistic and void her bowels I'd be surprised.

Well for my setup(light bolt on w/out headers) I would go with a vig 3400 (str 2.1) from what I've researched this will work well with 373 gears or stocker *(273 or 323s). It's really up to you and what you're looking for. I was looking for non track street manners with some kick. That is what I was recommeded by Fuddle (however I think a Vigilante will be a better choice-from what I gather, or Circle-D, or Yank). Just my two cents. I'd stick with what you have and even if you go with a 2200 stall you'll feel it and your car will feel like a different animal altogether. I used to drive my dads built El Camino with a 3000 stall and that thing kicked ***. Lay a patch in between gears if your tires aren't the best. Fun fun, and oh yeah FUN! Ask anyone on here about this who own A4 cars and they'll tell you it's worth it and the best bang for buck mod you can do for an A4 car. Just make sure you throw on another tranny cool (B &M or whatever you like-pretty cheap and keeps the tranny cooler). Good luck in your decision making.

Ok, that was pretty damn funny! A long time ago,I had an 86 Iroc with a 5spd. I went and test drove an 85 Iroc and just about crapped myself, didn't know if the thing had gears or a stall, but the way it took off and pulled I couldn't believe it. If I got a stall it would have to be like at least a 3600.. I called Yank and they said SS3600..

Well there's your answer Why at LEAST 3600? Iirc that would be more like a 4000 would it not coming from yank? Sounds more like a track setup. what have you done to your car?

Yeah I guess I see your point. But just don't forget a lot of those guys saying that only care about the 1320 and are track regulars. How do you like your 373 gears. Any better performance? I'm going to install some soon.

I realize there are a lot of guys that go to the track, that's why I would like people that street drive them with not a ton of mods responding. 3:73's are awesome! Its so much snappier and funner to drive. What do you have now,2:73's? I'm running motive thick gears. There is some whine. The shop told me I should have put a new carrier in and got gm 3:73's and they would be silent..The thick gears I think might whine more than regular gears..

How does your car feel just driving it on the street? Can you feel the stall?

Nah, I'm running the 323s and that's why I was wondering if the car will notice any good improvements since it's not that much of a jump. Also I don't mind worse fuel mileage as long as there is a proportionate performance gain.

Cons: build up more heat in transmission which may be a concern in hotter climates, can put more stress on transmission leading to tranny replacement, avg mpg going down, supplemental parts you need to get at same time add $$ fast- shift kit/tune/tranny cooler, may be bad for resale

Pros: MUCH MUCH faster off the line, much more fun, can add mph on the top end, actually got rid of alot of the rasp I had with LT/ORY/Loudmouth since it wasn't under load like before, may be good for resale

As for the differences in driving around town, I got used to it in 1-2 days. After I went back to stock stall it was weird and I preferred having it in

Ive had 2 different stalls in my car...while i wont do a swap to manual tranny cause i love the performance of the stalled auto, i also wouldnt trade (if i owned M6) for an auto...The auto is fairly boring to drive when ur not WOT which is like 90% of the time...truth be told...if i didnt have to buy a 12 bolt or 9 in to have a consistent M6 i would own one right now.

I have an edge 3400 at first it was weird on the street without stomping it & boiling drag radials that part was cool. After a day or so I got used to it. Let a converter builder I.E. yank, edge, vigilante, etc. Give you advise for what your wanting to do. Just pull the trigger and do it you won't be let down at all. you'll be happy it'll be a fun car to drive as well as cruise.

Thats your best bet. Go to your local mod shop & see if they know someone local with a stalled A4.

i had a 4k stalled auto and did a m6 swap yea the stalled autos are quick off the line but the m6 with the right driver will pull it up top autos are so boring stalled or not. yea a stalled auto makes it more fun over stock but still boring even when you punch it, just boring to me. nothing like rowing your own gears and the stock t56 is a helllll of alot stronger then the 4l60e
