th 400 or glide question

Default th 400 or glide question

my car is 3600 lbs with me and makes 800 plus hp and 1000 plus tq at the wheels thru a th 350.. here is my problem, i keep breaking the 350. so would i benefit from a glide or do i go with the 400 due to weight,,,it is a turbo set up.

What part of the 350 are you actually breaking? A 400 can easily be built handle that kind of power

the input shaft or first gear sprag...i know the 400 can be built for that i am asking which one would benifit my et the most.

TH400 - Heavier, more rotating mass
TH350 - Lighter with less rotating mass

The question is, what can your wallet handle. Not what will benefit your ET. TH350's can be made bullet proof to withstand 9/10 second cars in stock ~ super stock and light enought that a boy can pick it up to his chest. But its not cheap.

You can always go big and heavy and know it likely will not get hurt and try to make up or even gain ET by getting more power from the motor. Just a thought.

Why not a 4L80E and controller? At least you'd have OD.

I run a 350 behind an LS7 and broke an input shaft. I sourced a stronger 300m one, it wasn't that expensive, and have had no problems since.
