Default I got a th400, which converter to go with?

I picked up a th400 with a trans brake a few days ago. I have to get a converter to go with it. What will best match my combo and be good for any future bigger power combo's?

comp xer 230/230
ls6 intake
ebay kit gt70
9" 3.25 gears
th400 trans brake

This might be best asked in the Auto Trans section. That being said give Greg at FTI a call. He can set you up for what you have now and you get 2 or 3 free restalls. I daily drive my 4000 stall in my GTO and routinely take it on 300+ mile roadtrips. It drives real nice on light throttle, but when you floor it, watch the heck out 'cause it's on. When I told him all the details on my motor he got the stall spot on. 4000rpm on the transbrake.

I have a ss4000 converter now, I think I would be better suited with a smaller stall. I was thinking in the 3400-3600 range. I've heard good things about ATI, Coan, and I can speak for myself about the yank. It was great for my N/A application, but that's what it was made for, not a turbo app

we can build stalls in varios combinations. Not all 4000 stalls are the same. There are several different ways to get a converter to stall to 4000. It seems standard here on that stall speeds are set by a particular builder.But thye truth is you can make a 4000 stall with different fin angles and stator blade counts that will allow the converter to be more street driveable freindly or hit the tires harder,60 ft better or even change the overall efficiency of the converter.We build a lot of FI converters and we are a competition converter builder. How do I know if the trans is reverse or standard pattern aside from actually installing it and driving? I'd like to know before I go and buy a shifter I can't use.

if it is a trans brake 99% chance it is reverse pattern
