SS3800 opinions please

I think I am definetly going with an Yank SS3800.

Now I want to read about all the negative things about the converter, I want to hear all the problems I will run into, I don't want to be shocked when something goes wrong.

I'll be going with a 20K-24K cooler
Redline fluids (Which products do I need for the converter swap?)
Full dyno tune when finished.

I just read 1 today about the 2-3 shift with SES light but couldn't figure out what they meant

yes i have one as well, flawless performance 1.5.. 60'on et sts hits real hard below 40mph ,you wont go wrong with this tc !!

I wouldn't be ordering the "E" series, just a regular 3800, do I still need the flexplate for a 2002? What if I were to drop down to a 3600, do I still need the flex plate? If so who makes a good flex plate and how much? TCI?

if you are getting a regular SS3800 then no your stock flexplate will be fine.all converters on Yanks E line have 6 mountung hole and the flexplate on 01-02 cars only have three holes.

I've had mine for almost a year now, and have had zero problems. Over 10,000 miles and not a single problem. Was a little disappointed with the 60' times, but have only been to the track twice since it was installed. Best I did on ET Streets was a high 1.7. However, with headers and the stall I knocked .8 off my 1/8 mile time. An 8.04 from an 8.80's. I think more practice, suspension mods, and better track prep and 1.6's are easily feasible. I love it and wouldn't change it, except maybe restall it to 4000 after a head/cam install.
